Baby Boys Quilt

I am making a baby boys quilt for a friend of mine.  She asked for tans, blues and greens. I picked a light tan and a darker tan for the center of each block. I went a brighter color for the cornerstones in the border.

The pattern is from Quilt it for Kids 2008.  "Snips and Snails".  Usually when I make a quilt I play with the pattern in my EQ7.   I slightly changed the dimensions of the quilt to create a more rectangular shape.  And... I love to play with different color combinations.  This way I have an idea of what the quilt will look like before I CUT the fabric.

All cut and ready to go!!

Quilt for Baby Sophia

Pieced, appliqued and waiting to be quilted.  Wish I'd have finished it before the end of Easter Break.  Never enough time to do everything one wants too.  Just noticed that wonky purple checkered block... How did I miss that! I will have to fix that ASAP.  It will make me crazy!  This quilt will go to one of my good friend's granddaughter.

The pattern was from Quilt it for Kids 2003 or 2004.  I love this pattern!

 April's Free-Motion Quilting Challenge

This Month's quilt challenge was taught by Don Linn.  I just love this Technique!!  I have been quilting for several years now and I have never seen this technique using tulle to transfer quilting designs.  Thank you Don for sharing one of your designs with us!!

When using a permanent marker...... Don't forget to heat set it.... or it will transfer onto your fabric.

Here is my sample.... with black permanent marker on the block....  {sigh}

I will have to make this one over again!  Back to the drawing board.

Front -As you can see I forgot to heat set the tulle!
