27 Years of T-Shirts

I have been teaching Adaptive Physical Education for over 27 years and in that time I have collected (horded) my work shirts!  I didn't want to throw them away, but I didn't want to wear them either. Every time I moved something in the closet another mound of shirts fell out....so.... that I turned them into a double sided T-Shirt Quilt. 50 shirts in all!!

 Lots of Great Memories!

New York City Board of Education, New York City Department of Education, Adaptive Physical Education, Special Olympics, Jump Rope for Heart,  PS 201Q,  Mighty Milers and Achilles Kids Shirts!

Making this quilt was challenging due to the two-sided nature. It was very hard lining up the front and the back of the quilt on the frame.  The bottom of the quilt is slightly off. It's not really noticeable when laying on the bed, but hanging is another story. Next time I do something like this I will take more time making the layers exact.  But since it wasn't a customer quilt I didn't.  Ha!
It also made for a very Heavy quilt.

Black, Red & White were the APE Programs colors at one time.
